Instructions for unsubscribing from e-mails will also be included in each e-mail communication we send. You now have the right to be forgotten which mean you can request for your personally identifiable information to be deleted. In order to fulfil this request, we’ll archive your record on our database, removing your personal identifiable data, but we’ll also need to keep a suppression list so we always have a record of your request to make sure we never contact you again. However, in some circumstances there will be a legal reason for us to keep a record such as there being financial information which must be kept for six years

Our Service Providers

We work with trusted service providers including fundraising agencies, data analysis specialists, direct marketing agencies, software platform providers and researchers. These companies help us to deliver our work effectively.

In some circumstances relevant staff at our service providers will have access to your personal information. This access is only granted by K9 Rescue International to the extent necessary for them to perform their services for us. All our service providers must comply with strict rules to protect the information you have given us.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18.

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Security of Data

K9 Rescue International will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to protect the personal information that it holds from misuse, interference and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We will take reasonable steps to ensure that hard-copy and electronic records containing personal information are stored securely. This includes having an internal policy that records containing personal information are only accessible by people within K9 Rescue International who have a genuine “need to know”. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, K9 Rescue International cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us over the internet, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make reasonable efforts to try to ensure its security both on our systems and while in transit between our systems and the systems of the companies who provide us with various services. K9 Rescue International will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to destroy or de-identify personal information should we no longer need the information and the information is no longer required to be kept by law or an order of a court/tribunal.

Security of Payment Information

Online donations are securely processed. Any offline donations that you make by cheque, monthly debit or credit card are also securely processed either by K9 Rescue International or our trusted service providers.

Where is your information stored?

Information submitted by you may be transferred by us to our other offices and to other reputable third party organisations as referred to in this policy, and these may be situated outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

How can you access your personal information?

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information which K9 Rescue International holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. You can request a copy of the personal information we store through a Subject Access Request. Please email info@k9rescueinternational.org to request this.
